Venus Square Mars, Pesky & Promising ~ 5 Sep 2018

We are less than a day away from Saturn turning direct; about nine days since Mars turned about; seventeen days since Mercury went prograde. And we are thirty days from Venus’s next retrograde.

The questions beg asking as on Saturday (8 Sept) Venus in Libra squares Mars in Capricorn.

Any Venus to Mars square is taunting and daunting. It’s hot. It’s provocative. It’s teasing. It’s pleasing. It stirs the cauldron of desire to ensure one motivates the posterior and gets ass in gear sufficiently to secure the objects of affection, attention and aspiration. Given the square commences with Venus in Libra, a “natural” placement as Venus rules Libra, and Mars runs in the last little bit of Capricorn, a place where he is exalted, suggestively hay can be made during this transit, which is taking its leisurely time to complete given Mars still picks up speed from his most recent station.

Venus is Libra asks what do you want? Without anticipation of what others might think or how they might respond, what is it you really want... in totality... no editing? Mars in Capricorn replies that you should know how you’re going to get all the goodies you want... whether in terms of money, social standing or enhancement of relationship status... be dignified, bust you butt and take the necessary steps and complete all tasks completely and competently.

Saturn and Pluto sanction Mars’ instincts, if and only if, the action seeded is supported by a commitment to applying energy as long as is necessary to complete tasks at hand and required.

Another interesting component of the ongoing square is that both planets are in the last degree of the signs when the aspect achieves exactitude. The day after, the square is still in play, only now in different signs.

Following the exact square, Venus migrates to Scorpio - passion and desire increase - and Venus moves into a supportive sextile with Saturn. Following the exact square, Mars steps into Aquarius - chilling on the pressure of task and accomplishment and detaching from the outcome - and Mars moves into a sextile with Ceres, who enters Libra today (more on Ceres to follow).

The Venus to Mars square is set up by need, want and determined impulsiveness. It culminates with determination, action and cooperative advancement.

In the past day two interesting examples of slogans came to my attention that underscore the essence of the Venus to Mars square.

Nike (the shoe company, not the asteroid) put out a new and controversial “Just Do It” ad that features former quarterback and political lightning rod, Colin Kapernick. With a black and white image of Kapernick, the picture is bannered with the text, “Believe in something... Even if it means sacrificing everything.” While this may be more a Jupiter in Scorpio coming off a trine to Neptune in Pisces, it stirs the essence of desire and inspiration that underscores all action of accomplishment, thus feeding the nature of Venus square Mars.

Seen on the marquis of the Cine El Rey Theater in the Rio Grande Valley in Texas was: “Whatever you do, do it with all of your heart.” This slogan starts with Mars, follows with Venus. Perfect!

As the square culminates and the planets change signs, Venus’ passion increases while Mars’ detachment matches. This is actually a great blend. Burn for your aspirations. Yearn to fulfill your creativity. Engage and apply in every way you can with full fire in the belly. Then chill and let the Universe deliver what it had in mind for you from the get-go.

Detachment to outcome desired is huge. Do what you can. Let it go. A screenwriter might write what they feel is an Oscar-winning screenplay. A studio may read it and love it... but it’s not what they want to produce. So, they hire the writer to engage in the creation of a different script for a film they believe meets their viewer demographics. Awesome! Unless of course the writer declares that her or his script is the only screenplay they want to do as it is their passion project. Silly, right? But that sort of “cut off your nose to spite your face” (Ceres) nonsense does happen.

Ceres inches into Libra within the next day. She moves out of the sign associated with the harvest of wheat (I know, Northern Hemisphere bias) and into a sign signifying cooperation and diplomacy. Given that Ceres is a fierce advocate, how does one advocate fiercely and still be a pleasant person, and someone with whom others want to continue combining efforts and collaborating? That’s a matter of knowing what you really want, what is acceptable and what is not. That tricky threshold needs to be toed with tap shoes during this square.

Here’s an interesting thing. As Ceres takes on Libra she approaches Makemake, who holds an ecological implication. In the next few days on the heels of loosening of air pollution standards in the U.S., will constructive advocacy occur globally? Winds circulate the entire planet, after all.

Here’s another interesting tidbit about Ceres: When recently probed by a space craft bright white spots showed up. Ice on Ceres’ surface no doubt as a result of water beneath her surface. Wait, now! Asteroids are rocky and solid. That’s not how she should be. An analysis of Ceres’ mass, density and gravity places her clearly in the category of other dwarf planet, Kuiper Belt objects. Now astronomers believe that Ceres once roamed in the Kuiper Belt and relocated early in solar system formation courtesy of Jupiter (who had to resolve Ceres’ grievance with Pluto - a dwarf planet in the Kuiper Belt - regarding the abduction of her daughter, Core/Persephone). This is not only astronomically sensible, it is mythologically and symbolically perfect!

Ceres is now thought to be an “interloper,” according to astronomers. Funny how it goes. Last week prior to having this knowledge, I began writing a screenplay about a colony of astronauts on Pluto who confront aliens known as “interlopers.” Creative synchronicity, preview of coming new information perhaps?

Anyway, Ceres is positioned as a personal planet. Ceres, however, appears to have originated from a far vaster location in our solar system. Likely she is a dwarf planet from the Kuiper Belt. She has a requirement for life directly beneath her surface - water. Mars is virtually in trine to Ceres now and through the entire time he squares Venus. Just for fun, knowing that water was recently confirmed on Mars and Ceres, will competition begin for which planet should be inhabited by humans first?

Ceres inquires, in your life, will every action you take support the ultimate agenda of your core? If so, this ongoing trine with Mars renders support than you might know.
